Certificate pages stay out of search results

Public certificate pages now ask search engines not to index them, while remaining reachable by link, QR code, and certificate ID.

By Ashwin Shenoy · Founder and engineer

A public certificate page is meant to be found by the person holding the link, not by someone searching a recipient's name.

Certificate pages now carry a no-index instruction for search engines. The page still opens from its link, QR code, or certificate ID, and the signature, public record, and any blockchain anchor work exactly as before.

A certificate page carries a recipient's name and achievement. It should be shareable without becoming a permanent search result for that person's name. No-index is a request to well-behaved crawlers, not a privacy guarantee; treat the public page as public to anyone who has the link.
