Preview a design with a real recipient

See the certificate with an actual recipient's name and Attributes before issuing, so long names and missing fields are caught early.

By Ashwin Shenoy · Founder and engineer

The worst certificate bug is the one you see after 500 emails have gone out: a name that runs off the edge, a missing college field, or a sponsor logo covering the QR code.

Preview with Data shows the design with a real recipient's values before the batch is issued.

What it catches

Switch between recipients and watch the layout change. A long name may wrap onto a second line; a missing Attribute may leave a blank gap; a date or team name may be longer than the sample you designed with. The preview makes those problems visible while the design is still editable.

Open a certificate, choose Design, and use Preview with Data. Pick a recipient from the list, or use the preview controls in the design editor.

A useful test set

Preview the shortest name, the longest name, a recipient with every Attribute filled, and one with an optional Attribute missing. Those four cases catch most overflow and blank-field problems.

What it does not do

Previewing does not issue a certificate or spend a credit. It also does not validate that the recipient should receive a certificate; it shows what the certificate would look like, not whether the person is eligible.
