Recolour SVG artwork from a colour swatch

Select an SVG logo or icon in the design editor and recolour it from a swatch instead of editing the source file or uploading a new version.

By Ashwin Shenoy · Founder and engineer

SVG logos are useful because they stay sharp at any size. They are annoying when the only supplied version is the wrong colour for the certificate.

SVG artwork can now be recoloured from a swatch.

  1. Select the SVG element in the design editor.
  2. Open the colour control and choose a swatch or enter a colour.
  3. Check the result against the background before publishing.

This is useful for a sponsor logo that needs to sit on a dark certificate, an icon that should match the event palette, or a university mark supplied in a single colour. The shapes and transparency stay intact; only the colour changes.

Complex multi-colour SVGs may have several fills, and a single swatch will not always produce the intended result. If the artwork depends on its original colours, keep the source file and use it as supplied. Recolouring is a design convenience, not a replacement for a proper brand asset.
