Draft certificates no longer look unlocked

A draft certificate now shows its draft state ahead of any unlock status, so a recipient waiting on a form is not mistaken for a released certificate.

By Ashwin Shenoy · Founder and engineer

A certificate can be in two states at once: not published yet, and waiting on an Unlock Form response. The recipient list was prioritising the unlock status, so a draft certificate could look like it had already been released.

That is fixed.

The draft state now takes precedence in the status badge. A recipient on a draft certificate reads as waiting for publish, not as unlocked or released. Once the certificate is published, the unlock status becomes the relevant state again.

The change is a status correction, not a data change. No certificate was issued or withheld by the display; the underlying records are unchanged.
