Archive a finished certificate without losing it

Archive a completed certificate to clear the active list, then restore it later. Issued certificate pages stay available while it is archived.

By Ashwin Shenoy · Founder and engineer

The certificates list grows with every event. Old cohorts, past fests, and one-off workshops sit next to the certificate that is live this week, and the active list becomes harder to scan.

Certificates can be archived.

What archiving does

Archiving removes a certificate from the active list without deleting its recipients or its issued pages. Recipients can still open their certificates and verifiers can still use the public links. Restore the certificate when the next cohort needs it.

Open the Certificates list and use the archive action on a completed certificate. Archived certificates are available in the archived view.

Archive, do not delete

Deleting a certificate permanently removes it and its recipient records, and it removes the associated public certificate pages. That is the right action when a certificate was created by mistake or should no longer exist. It is the wrong action for a past event that someone may still need to verify.

Archiving is for tidying the workspace. Deleting is for removing the record.
