Show the achievement behind the certificate

Add certificate type, duration, skills, earning criteria, and a learn-more link. The details appear on the public certificate page.

By Ashwin Shenoy · Founder and engineer

A certificate usually says who, what event, and when. It rarely says what the person actually did.

Certificate details can now carry that context.

What the page now shows

The certificate type, duration, skills, earning criteria, and a learn-more link. The details appear on the public certificate page, so a verifier sees more than a name and a title.

They are also part of the signed Open Badge 3.0 credential. That means the context travels with the certificate rather than living only on the page.

An employer looking at a participation certificate cannot tell whether the person attended a one-hour webinar or completed a six-week programme. Earning criteria and skills give the certificate meaning beyond the file.
