Issue certificates from a Canvas module with LTI 1.3

Install Verifycate as an LTI 1.3 tool in Canvas. Module completion issues one verifiable certificate to each learner, with no separate list to maintain.

Canvas already knows who completed the module. Verifycate can now receive that completion directly, instead of waiting for someone to export a spreadsheet after the course closes.

Verifycate is available as an LTI 1.3 tool inside Canvas. Once it is installed, a course can deliver a certificate as a module item, with Canvas handling access and completion.

How it works

  1. Install Verifycate as an LTI 1.3 tool in your Canvas account or course.
  2. Add the Verifycate certificate as a module item and map it to the certificate design you want to issue.
  3. Set the module requirement in Canvas. When a learner meets it, Verifycate issues their certificate.

Each learner receives one verifiable certificate. The public page, QR code, and credential details work the same way as a certificate issued from a recipient list.

Why it matters

Course completions are the most predictable certificate trigger a programme has. Keeping that trigger inside Canvas removes a recurring export, a manual mapping step, and the gap between the course ending and the certificate arriving.

It also keeps the source of truth in one place. The LMS decides who completed the work; Verifycate handles the design, delivery, and verification page attached to the result.
