Recipients can fix their own name errors

Share a Correction Form so recipients can request a name or detail change, with automatic or reviewed application and the same certificate URL.

By Ashwin Shenoy · Founder and engineer

Misspelt names and wrong college names are the most common post-event certificate request. The usual fix is an email thread, a spreadsheet note, and a reissued PDF — often with a new link and a confused recipient.

The Correction Form moves that request into the certificate.

How it works

Enable the form on a certificate and choose which details a recipient may ask to change. The recipient opens the form, confirms their identity with a one-time code, and marks the fields that are wrong. The request appears in Correction Requests.

Choose Apply Automatically for low-risk fields, or Review Before Applying if someone should check every change. Approving updates the existing certificate and public page; the certificate ID and URL stay the same.

What it protects

A correction is not a reissue. It does not create a second certificate, does not send the recipient a new design, and does not spend a credit. The recipient keeps the link they already shared.

Rejecting a request can carry a reason, so the recipient knows what to change before resubmitting. The request can be reopened if the decision changes.

Where it helps

A student fixes the spelling of their name before sharing the certificate with an employer. A volunteer corrects the college name on a participation certificate. A training provider limits corrections to name and cohort details while keeping the award and completion date fixed.

The Correction Form is a Pro feature.
