Certificate platform alternatives

Verifycate vs Certifier

Verifycate as an alternative to Certifier — published pricing for 1,000 certificates a year, what each platform is good at, and which one fits your event.

What Certifier is

A certificate and badge platform from Poland that markets itself as the "#1 certificate maker". It has the deepest design tooling on our list — a large template library, an AI design assistant, and integrations into most of the tools an L&D team already runs. Its customers include Duolingo, BAFTA, and the University of Birmingham.

Certifier's flagship features

  • AI certificate maker and design builder — generate certificate designs without design skills, then refine them in a drag-and-drop editor with dynamic attributes and custom backgrounds.
  • 3,000+ templates — the largest template library of any platform on this list, across certificates, badges, and documents.
  • Digital badges and credential lifecycle — Open Badge 3.0 badges alongside certificates, with scheduled issuing, expiration settings, and renewal reminder emails.
  • Branded credential portal — a white-label recipient portal on your own domain, on the Advanced plan, with branding features also sold as monthly add-ons on lower tiers.
  • Integrations, API, and an MCP — native connectors for Google Sheets, Microsoft Forms, Zoom, and Canvas LMS, plus Zapier, Make, webhooks, a REST API — and a Certifier MCP.

Where Certifier leads

They do some things we don't, and pretending otherwise wouldn't help you decide. These are the capabilities we can't match — if any of them is the point for you, pick them.

  • A dedicated digital-badge product with badge-specific templates. Verifycate issues certificates only.
  • Native LMS connectors — Canvas, Moodle-class integrations, plus 30+ others. We expose an API and webhooks instead, so you build the connection yourself.
  • AI-assisted design. Our editor is manual — though you can bring a Canva design in as the background.
  • Enterprise features we don't offer: SSO, role-based workspaces, and audit logs.

Why teams choose Verifycate

  • Bring a Canva design straight in as the certificate background — you keep the design tool you already use.
  • Unlock Forms, Certificate Requests, corrections, sponsors, custom domain, and the API all sit on one plan rather than across tiers or add-ons.
  • Credits never expire, so an annual issuing cap can't strand an event that runs late.
  • About a tenth of the price for the same 1,000 certificates a year.

Pick Certifier if

Design is the hard part for you and you want a big template library and an AI designer more than you want price or request links.

Common questions

How much does Certifier cost?
The Starter plan is free with 250 credentials a year. Self-serve paid plans scale by an annual issuing slider — Professional starts at $67/month billed annually, and Advanced at around $254/month. Branding features like the custom domain and the branded portal are sold as monthly add-ons.
Certifier or Verifycate for a campus fest?
If you need hundreds or a few thousand certificates for one event, price is the difference: Certifier's Starter covers 1,000 credentials a year at $504, while Verifycate's Pro plan is $54 a year with 1,200 credits. If you also want badges or a Canvas LMS integration, Certifier is the stronger tool.
Can I switch from Certifier to Verifycate?
Yes. Export your recipient list as a CSV, then import it into Verifycate and map the columns once. Bring your design as a Canva background. Your recipients get a fresh public page with a QR code, and old certificate links you still control keep working on whichever platform issued them.

Send the certificates tonight.

Every certificate gets a QR code and a public page anyone can verify. Pro is $54 a year with credits that never expire — and the first 300 certificates are free, no card.

Worth knowing: Unlock Forms aren't for collecting names you never had — Certificate Request links do that. Unlock Forms do the opposite job: after the event, each recipient gets a private link and completes your feedback form or leaves a testimonial before their certificate is released.
