Workshop certificates for attendance and completion
Issue workshop attendance or completion certificates from the list you have — including walk-ins, missing emails, late corrections, and a verification page.
On this page
A workshop ends with two lists that do not match: the people who registered and the people who actually came. There are walk-ins, early leavers, and a sign-in sheet with names but no email addresses. The certificate has to state what each person did, and the data has to support that claim.
Verifycate lets you import the confirmed list, collect the missing people through a request form, and issue attendance, participation, or completion certificates with a public page. The design and the claim stay consistent across a workshop series.
The rest of this page covers the platform pieces, what they replace, and the choices that affect the batch.
The claim comes first
| Claim | What it says | What you need |
|---|---|---|
| Attendance | The person was in the room | Name, workshop, date |
| Participation | The person took part in the exercises | Attendance plus a facilitator check |
| Completion | The person finished the required work | A task, quiz, project, or minimum attendance rule |
Do not let the template claim more than the data supports. “Completed” when the only record is a registration row makes every certificate from the same issuer easier to doubt.
What breaks after the room empties
Workshops collect people in three ways: pre-registration, walk-ins, and the message the next morning asking whether there is still a certificate.
The registration export is missing the walk-ins. The sign-in sheet has names but no emails. The facilitator remembers two people who left early. The certificate design was approved for a session that has since changed its title.
These are data problems, not design problems. They decide whether the certificate is accurate.
What the platform handles
| Capability | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Template editor | One approved design with Attributes for workshop title, date, facilitator, and hours. |
| CSV, Excel, paste, or manual entry | Bring the confirmed list, add a late attendee, or paste rows from a sheet. |
| Issue Request Form | Collect walk-ins and missing details from a public link; review before issuing. |
| Bulk email delivery | Send every certificate with a public page, QR code, PNG/PDF download, and LinkedIn action. |
| Correction Form | Fix a name or allowed detail on the same certificate and page, without a reissue credit. |
| Delivery analytics | See delivered, bounced, opened, clicked, and page views for the workshop. |
| Certificate details | Record the claim, duration, skills, and earning criteria on the public page. |
Before Verifycate
| Old approach | Friction | With Verifycate |
|---|---|---|
| Canva or PowerPoint, one file at a time | Every attendee is a manual export | Bulk import and issue |
| A sign-in sheet plus a spreadsheet | Names and emails do not match | Column mapping and duplicate skipping |
| A PDF attached to a follow-up email | Lost in the inbox; cannot be checked | Public page and QR code |
| ‘Email us if your name is wrong’ | The facilitator reissues files | Correction Form on the same record |
| A separate feedback form | Responses sit in another tool | Unlock Form on Pro |
How flexible it is
- Claim type. Attendance, participation, or completion, with the wording and evidence you choose.
- One design or a series. Keep the workshop title and date as Attributes, and reuse the Template across sessions.
- Open or gated release. Issue after attendance, or hold the certificate behind an Unlock Form until the recipient responds.
- Form review. Issue automatically when an Issue Request arrives, or review each applicant first.
- Delivery. Use the shared sender, or on Pro your own domain, provider, or SMTP.
- Expiry. Leave it off for a one-off workshop, or set a validity period when the skill needs renewal.
Outcomes you can report
| Outcome | Where it shows up |
|---|---|
| Certificates issued against attendance | Recipient status |
| Email delivery and bounces | Delivery events |
| Walk-ins collected through the request form | Issue Requests |
| Name corrections | Correction Requests |
| Recipient engagement | Opens, clicks, page views, shares |
Fit and inputs
A single session, a workshop series, or a facilitator running the same programme in several cities. The list can come from an LMS, a registration form, a sign-in sheet, or a spreadsheet. If the workshop is part of a course, Canvas LTI or the WordPress LMS plugin can issue from course completion instead.

Common questions
- Should the certificate say attendance or completion?
- Use attendance when the evidence is a sign-in or check-in list. Use completion only when there is a task, quiz, project, or minimum attendance rule behind it. Participation needs a facilitator check.
- Can we issue certificates to walk-ins who never registered?
- Yes. Share the Issue Request Form; applicants confirm their email with a one-time code and submit their details. You can issue automatically or review each request first.
- Can we reuse the design for a workshop series?
- Yes. Keep the workshop title, date, facilitator, and hours as Attributes, and reuse the approved Template across sessions.
- Can we hold the certificate until feedback arrives?
- Yes, with the Unlock Form on Pro. Choose automatic release after submission or review the response first.
