Automation integration
Connect Verifycate to n8n
Install the open-source Verifycate community node in n8n to add recipients, revoke or replace certificates, and start workflows from signed certificate events. Works on self-hosted n8n today; n8n Cloud installation follows verification.
n8n is the open-source option for teams that want certificate work inside a workflow they can self-host, inspect and extend.
What the node covers
Issue, revoke and react without leaving n8n
The package ships an action node and a signed webhook trigger for the same Verifycate workspace.
Certificate actions
Add a recipient, issue or send a pending certificate, update recipient details, revoke with an audit reason, replace a revoked credential or reissue onto the latest design.
Certificate operations
Create, read, list and update certificates, list recipients, and review request or correction submissions from the same node.
Signed event trigger
Start a workflow when a certificate is issued, verified, downloaded, shared or revoked. Scope the trigger to one certificate or receive events for the whole workspace.
Setup
Install the node and connect a workspace
- 01
Install the community node
On self-hosted n8n, open Settings → Community nodes and install @verifycate/n8n-nodes-verifycate. On n8n Cloud, install Verifycate from the nodes panel after verification.
- 02
Create a scoped API key
Create a key with certificates:read and certificates:write under Workspace → API Keys in Verifycate.
- 03
Add the Verifycate API credential
In n8n, create a Verifycate API credential and paste the key. The credential test confirms the workspace against GET /api/v1/workspaces/current.
- 04
Build and test the workflow
Add a Verifycate action or trigger, map the certificate and recipient fields, then activate the workflow and send a test delivery from Verifycate → Settings → Webhooks.
Common questions
- Can I install the Verifycate node on n8n Cloud?
- The package is published and awaiting review for the n8n verified community node program. Until that review completes, n8n Cloud users cannot install it from the nodes panel. Self-hosted n8n can install it now from npm.
- How do I install it on self-hosted n8n?
- Open Settings → Community nodes, choose Install a community node and enter @verifycate/n8n-nodes-verifycate. If the community nodes panel is disabled, set N8N_COMMUNITY_PACKAGES_ENABLED=true before starting n8n.
- Which API key scopes does the node need?
- Certificate reads and triggers need certificates:read. Adding, revoking or replacing certificates also needs certificates:write. Create the key under Workspace → API Keys; the key identifies the workspace.
- How does the trigger receive events?
- The trigger creates a signed Verifycate webhook subscription when the workflow activates and verifies the X-Verifycate-Signature header on every delivery. The n8n webhook URL must be public HTTPS; use a tunnel while developing locally.
- Does the node replace the API or webhooks?
- No. It is a client for the same public API and webhook events. The REST API and webhooks remain available for systems that are not built in n8n.
