Tech fest certificates for tracks, prizes and teams
Issue tech fest certificates for winners, finalists, track prizes, team members, and volunteers — with sponsor marks and public verification.
On this page
A tech fest produces award shapes that a single certificate cannot hold: overall winners, track winners, sponsor prizes, finalists, team members, mentors, and volunteers. The judging sheet has the result; the registration export has the people.
Verifycate separates the award groups, keeps the team and track details as fields, and gives each certificate its own public page. The same approved design can cover several award families without a new file each time.
This page covers what the platform handles, what it replaces, and the choices that keep a multi-track closeout consistent.
The award structure is the product problem
A hackathon team may win a track, a sponsor prize, and an overall place in the same weekend. A robotics team may enter two categories. A design sprint may have an individual award inside a team event.
If the certificate treats all of that as one “winner” row, the team will ask for a correction. Decide the award map before the judging sheet is final.
The capability set
| Capability | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Award groups | Separate certificates for overall, track, sponsor prize, finalist, participant, mentor, and volunteer. |
| Attributes | Track, team, project, rank, and sponsor as fields inside one design. |
| Team or individual issue | One certificate per member or one to the team lead, depending on the rule. |
| Bulk import | CSV, Excel, paste, or API; duplicates are skipped. |
| Correction Form | Fix names and team spellings on the same certificate and page. |
| Public verification | QR code, public page, PNG/PDF, LinkedIn, and Open Badge 3.0 data. |
| Sponsor surfaces | Printed strip on the Template; optional page slots on Pro. |
What you stop maintaining
| Old approach | Friction | With Verifycate |
|---|---|---|
| A design per award category | New file and approval each time | One Template with award Attributes |
| Judging sheet plus a mail merge | Internal scores and wrong labels leak into print | Import only the final award fields |
| A team lead forwards the PDF | Other members have no record | One certificate per person |
| Corrections by email | The team reissues the batch | Correction Form on the same record |
| Sponsor logos applied by hand | Inconsistent placement | Approved strip on the Template |
The flexibility
- Team or individual. Issue one certificate per member, or one to the team lead with the team name as an Attribute.
- One award or several. Two certificates for two wins, or one certificate with two award lines.
- Sponsor track. A separate certificate per track, or an
awardAttribute that includes the sponsor. - Design. One achievement design, one participation design, and one appreciation design usually cover the fest.
- Credits. One per certificate issue; a reissue after a design change spends another.
The numbers to track
| Outcome | Where it shows up |
|---|---|
| Certificates issued per award group | Recipient status |
| Delivery and bounces | Delivery events |
| Team-name corrections | Correction Requests |
| Recipient sharing | Page views and clicks |
| Pending recipients | Recipient filters |
Fit and requirements
Campus tech fests, hackathons, CTFs, robotics meets, design sprints, and multi-track competitions. The award data can come from a judging spreadsheet, Airtable, a submission platform, or a coordinator’s sheet.

Common questions
- Do team members each get a certificate?
- That is the team’s rule. One certificate per member is more useful and costs one credit per person; one to the team lead is cheaper but leaves the rest without a record.
- Can we issue separate certificates for sponsor tracks?
- Yes. Treat each sponsor track as its own award or use an award Attribute that includes the sponsor name.
- How do we handle a team that wins two categories?
- Either issue two certificates or one certificate with two award lines. Two certificates create two public pages and spend two credits.
- Can we keep judging scores off the certificate?
- Yes. Import only the final position and award name; internal scores stay in the judging sheet.
