Webinar certificates from attendance exports
Turn a webinar attendance export into verifiable certificates — handle no-shows, replay viewers, missing emails, and bulk delivery without manual PDF edits.
On this page
A webinar leaves an attendance export that rarely matches the registration list. Display names, duplicate joins, replay viewers, and no-shows all end up in the same CSV. The certificate has to reflect a policy the host can defend.
Verifycate takes the list you accept, issues the certificates in bulk, and gives every attendee a public page with a QR code and delivery tracking. The same Template can run a series without a new design each month.
This page covers what the platform does, what it replaces, and the choices that shape a webinar batch.
Decide who qualifies
| Policy | Who qualifies | What to watch |
|---|---|---|
| Joined at all | Anyone in the attendance export | Registrants who never joined |
| Minimum duration | Attendees above a time threshold | Platforms report duration differently |
| Live only | Live attendees, not replay | Replay viewers may expect one too |
| Live or replay | Both groups | The replay export may arrive days later |
Write the rule in the certificate email or on the registration page. “Attended the live session” and “completed the webinar” are different claims, and the second needs a completion signal you may not have.
The tools this workflow uses
| Capability | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| CSV or Excel import | Bring the attendance export from Zoom, Meet, Teams, or a registration tool. |
| Attributes | Session, date, host, and duration inside one reusable design. |
| Bulk email | Send every certificate with a public page, QR code, and download. |
| Issue Request Form | Collect attendees missing from the export. |
| Correction Form | Fix names and display names on the same certificate and page. |
| Delivery tracking | Delivered, bounced, opened, clicked, and page views. |
| Automation | API, webhooks, Zapier, or an LMS trigger for recurring sessions. |
The old way
| Old approach | Friction | With Verifycate |
|---|---|---|
| Attendance export plus a mail merge | Duplicates and display names | Import, dedupe, and map fields |
| PDFs attached to a follow-up email | Lost in the inbox; no verification | Public page and QR code |
| A separate form for missing people | Responses sit in another tool | Issue Request Form |
| Name fixes by reply | The host reissues files | Correction Form on the same record |
| No delivery visibility | Bounces go unnoticed | Delivery events and analytics |
Ways to run it
- Live, replay, or both. Treat replay viewers as a separate batch or include them in the same issue.
- Duration threshold. Filter the export before import; state the rule in the email.
- Recurring series. Make the session name and date Attributes, and reuse the Template.
- Delivery. Shared sender, or on Pro your own domain, provider, or SMTP.
- Credits. One per certificate issue; a second batch for replay spends another credit.
Metrics that move
| Outcome | Where it shows up |
|---|---|
| Attendees issued | Recipient status |
| Delivery and bounces | Delivery events |
| Issue requests | Issue Requests |
| Name corrections | Correction Requests |
| Recipient engagement | Opens, clicks, page views |
Who it fits
Zoom, Meet, Teams, or a custom webinar platform. There is no native Zoom integration; export the attendance CSV and import it, or use the API for a custom platform.

Common questions
- Can we issue only to people who stayed for a minimum time?
- Yes, if the platform export includes duration. Filter the list before import and state the rule in the email.
- How do we handle replay viewers?
- Treat them as a separate batch or a separate certificate. Replay data often arrives after the live export.
- Can we send from our own domain?
- Yes, on Pro. Verify a domain, connect a provider, or use SMTP.
- Do webinar certificates need a QR code?
- The QR code is optional on the design, but every certificate has a public page and a shareable link.
